One thing though. The failure of the ABS system does not effect in any way the way the brakes feel (when the ABS system is not called for). If your pedal is spongy or goes to the floor, you have another problem on top of the defective ABS unit.
I would start by bleeding the brake system first and see what happens.
Most likely your ABS Control Unit has failed. All of them will eventually fail after they reach 80,000 miles or 5 years.
Reading the ABS codes costs about $125.00 at the dealer and about 95% of the time, the diagnosis is a defective ABS Control Unit.
