Need advice on purchasing a V70 V70-XC70

We have a 99 V70 with almost 100k. So far no ETM problem and no real problems of any kind. It has been a good, dependable, and very comfortable car. If, however, you can find a nice 98, I would lean that way to avoid the ETM problem.
