You can get to the "hot" lead on the radio connector pretty easily... check this link...

Just be sure that you have the correct 4 digit code to enable the radio again if you unplug the connector. If you are planning on soldering instead of splicing, use a cordless soldering iron... some old plug-in soldering irons can actually have potentially harmful voltage on the iron tip itself.
If you'd rather not pull the radio, you can always splice into the cigarette lighter power. It has a hefty wire size leading to it, as well as a suitably sized fuse.
