What do we think of 1998 V70s compared to 240s?

One point to consider, the 98 V70's are the simplest of all the V70's. Essentially an 850 with some minor modifications.

The salvage car sounds promising. Definitively look into that. As mentioned, you might be able to pick up a fairly new car for short money...:) I know someone who picked up a Saab awhile back with a salvage title - no problems.
