You may also want to ask this on the AWD forum.

There appears to be two forms of this gate:
- One with springs in the outer hinge assemblies to assist lift the gate up.
- One with hydraulic shock springs that seem to fail. Replacements available.

Though I'm unsure. Part Number would help. As the cross section profile of the cargo area 'evolved' between the 850 wagon and the the V70 (after 1998, I guess, or 1999?), I'm unsure if a cargo / dog gate / barrier from a V70 would fit.

It appears the dog gate for Volvo 850 is no longer available (NLA) from Volvo and the after market outlets. iPd and FCP Euro used to sell the OEM cargo gates for Volvo wagons.

I've found images of old threads on other Volvo FED forums. Ebay has a few for sale, yet doubtful they'd fit.
