English Parts Manual for PV444 or 44408 444-544 1958

Hello all. Does anyone have or know where I can obtain a parts manual for my '58 PV 444 (44408) in English? I purchased the PV CD from Tadeusz Malkiewicz (tadeusz.malkiewicz@plusnet.pl) but the parts catalog that comes with it is in Swedish.

Thank you in advance.

These are available online at www.gcp.se and you can use your Swedish parts manual to identify the part number, then search the GCP site (in English). Also, several after-market suppliers have their own condensed catalogs, along with the 544 parts. The URLs for all of these companies are located on my homepage, CVOLVO.COM.

I guess that is one way to do it, just has a few more steps involved.

Although, at GCP.se, do I use "PV 444-1957" or "PV 444 B-K" ?? (I have 1958 PV 444 L or 44408.)

Thanks,
Tony

Good morning Tony: I think the only discernable difference would be the B16B motor, that should be virtually identical to the A to B models of the 544. You'll also find that early 544 models shared many components with the latter 444s. Also, the 444 parts catalogs were a bit sparse with their diagrams, so the 544 online catalog may be more helpful, depending on what you're interested in. BTW, there was a separate 444 L (B16) parts catalog and if there's anything that you need in particular, just let me know and I'll send you a scanned page or two.

Good luck with your restoration project. After finishing all of my pre-winter chores, I plan to start on my second 1953 PV444 that I will be changing from the basic black "E" model into a deluxe maroon-red "ES", with the bomb sight hood ornament and of course the takgök signal light. I plan to likewise document the restoration on my web site, in a similar fashion to what I did on my Amazon-S.

Can we get the URL to your restoration website?

It's always informative and interesting to see what others have done!

Steve

Sure Steve, no problem at all. My homepage, that has the parts supplier links and the other bits, including the Amazon-S restoration, is http://cvolvo.com. There's a link where you will find the Amazon-S restoration, but here's the shorcut: http://cvolvo.com/Central/AMAZON/ that are also hyperlinks in this message.
