Tie Rod (Strut) End Removal, 1993 940 900

Rust belt= real bitch of a job. I ended up having to replace the inner tie rods due to inability to remove the outer ends from the inners. Fortunately, this is neither expensive nor time consuming (see the FAQ). Parts may be had from local suppliers such as NAPA. To get the tie rod end off the ball joint stud, use PB and some heat. Try using an ice cube on the warm stud to shrink it down and then pound the end off. If worse comes to worst, you are in the market for ball joints AND inner/outer tie rods.
