frozen rear calipers should i rebuild them myself or is this asking for a total nightmare

    If you don't need this car for a while, go ahead and try it. But most places want to do a core exchange and if you screw it up, they won't take yours. You could try using a C clamp to push the piston back in after slathering lots of brake grease on it.
    You need to be your own judge on this one.

    I rebuilt for the learning experience using parts from spares that I had tossed aside when they started giving problems. (I get "new" ones from PickNPulls.) It takes time and requires proper solvents. If you don't have a selection you can screw up on eg. snapped bleeders, probably not worth it.

    Have you tried working the pistons loose?
