Hi. Actually, according to your account of what's happened, the belt really only jumped one time ("The first time, a few years ago, the belt was really off one tooth...").
Hopefully, when he replaced the belt (and he didn't just reinstall the same old one, did he?), he was smart enough to also replace the tensioner, as that would be suspect at that point.
Remember that the second time, it hadn't really jumped -- the mechanic "just thought it was off...", and the "new mechanic ... put it back where it was supposed to be", according to your account.
So it's not "jumping teeth all the time", is it? Only once (and hoping that the mechanic replaced the tensioner) isn't "all the time", unless there's something else to your story?
