940 Distributor Cap Tuneup Questions 900

How often do you guys change plugs on the B230F engine?
Also, how frequently do you replace the distributor cap and rotor?
Is the distributor cap for the Turbo the Bosch model which mounts at the back of
the cam housing? My 94 940 NA uses that type and I think Autozone as an aftermarket for it for around $25.

Thanks!

I'd be cautious of an Autozone cap & rotor. If they're Bosch, then go for it. But if they're a cheap knock-off, you'll get what you pay for. (aluminum contacts instead of copper, poor fit, etc.) The OEM/Bosch part is $40 from FCP Groton. On a part that lasts 100K miles, I'd spend the extra $15.

Just my 2 cents... arguably worth that.

I do as Kevin does for the plugs and cap. The cap can be a bit expensive but not when you consider how long they last.

When you do go to replace the cap and wires, be sure you get the right ones. Some NA cars have the Bosch system and some, like mine, the Regina (Bendix) system. I found that these take different caps and wires.
