Battery Drain when car isnt running? 200 1990

Scott,

15mA should not to too high. My son-in-law had dead battery trouble with his 96 960 and thought he was reading a 19mA draw ... which actually turned out to be 1.9 amps. He started pulling fuses and got a significate drop when he disconnected one of the audio fuses. We haven't figured out what the exact problem is, (possibly a bad transitior stereo amp ??), but the heavy draw and resulting dead battery problems have ceased. You might make sure you are seeing a 15mA draw not a 1.5 amp. My Bentley manual indicates 0-100 mA to be the acceptable range. Hope this helps.
