i need to confirm the location of headlight grounds, the bulbs are averaging 4 months and burn out at random. headlights & foglights.

    Poor ground causes low voltage to the affected circuit or bulb. Short lifespan and burnout is just the opposite - excessive voltage. Either you are using low quality Chinese or Korean bulbs, or the alternator is overcharging.

      i use silverstar bulbs, must be alternator overcharging.
      thats the answer in FAQ, but i thought i saw something about ground
      corrosion problems in a previous post.

        Bad grounds will make them light dimly or not at all. It will not cause them to burn out. But meter on battery and check that charging voltage does not exceed 14.7 volts when it is fully charged. Try it with headlights on, and lights off.
