I can't seem to find a page with the day-to-day rankings, who is in what position. Does anyone know if these are published?

Tom

Goto www.abr2006.com and move over the main bars ontop and they will shop submenus to click on. Move mouse over news and you get rankings and move mouse over route you get day by day.

Best Racing Cars of all time 120-130

Classic volvos have always been great race cars since they were designed and built and there is no better proof in this rally. Most of the top cars are 122s.

I've already got the Martinsburg to DC commuter rally -- a year long 24,000 mile trek through four seasons of extreme weather, random moving obstacles and penalty points if caught exceeding time trial limits.

The extent of restoration done on the cars doing the real rally is mind boggling. That silver 122 appears to have been entirely disassembled to the last nut and bolt and every last part refinished to like new or better. All that work was just prep for a trip across two continents? How humbling.

Temps have been hovering near 100 for the past week here too. Windows down, front and rear vent windows open -- it's been okay at any speed over 70 ;-) Slower than that it just feels like hot air coming in. Been changing clothes a lot lately.

Looks like fun.
Reminds me of Targa Newfoundland, only not as much speed.
Sounds like more endurance though.

Hmmm, how many years till I retire?

Some of the cars in the race don't even look like they are going to make it or even win. What the hell is a 59 caddy doing in a race like that.

It's not a race, it's a vintage endurance rally. That most of the cars look like they won't make it is because they are old cars, which is precisely the point of the rally. In an XC90 it would be an interesting drive, but only a moderate challenge. The 59 Caddy probably stands a pretty good chance - simple and rugged - although supplying enough fuel could present a logistical and financial challenge.
