If they only have one or two 740's they may be reluctant to let you do the rip'n 'n pick'n. I've spent alot of time wandering these yards in SoCal and many people are really not too careful when they are removing items and end up breaking alot of stuff they don't need just to get to what they do need. They probably just want to save what few cars they do have. Typically though you're the one doing the picking and you can take whatever you like from an engine to a hose clamp to a radio knob. The whole car is usually not available because it's allready offically deregistered as scrap. Prices are usually not very negotiable out here and it's usually a "take it or leave it" proposition. 30 day replacement warrantee's are often available for a few extra dollars and it's a good thing to get for items such as radios. Some items have a small "core charge" which you get back when you bring back your bad part that you replaced but it's usually just a way to get a few extra dollars. I've used it as a way to pay the $2 entrance fee but with the price of gas who's going to bring back a replaced part just to get $2-3. I may be a little wierd but it's cheap entertainment and you do get a fair amount of exercise although God knows what type of carcinogens I inhale. Seeing those awful wrecks though gives you some reminders what can easily happen because of a few seconds of carelessness or inattention. Good pick'n..........
