advice on a possible purchase - 1991 740 turbo 700

Today saw this for sale: 1991 740 Turbo 4-door wagon, 156K miles, automatic, original owner. Interior, including leather seats, look well-cared for, and the exterior reflects the same car - little in the way of dings or scratches. Claims 26 mpg highway. Asking $2695 OBO. We are looking for a third car - we have one new Suzuki, my pretty reliable 1990 740 GLE 16 valve (225K), and I am looking for a third car I can work on (helpful if similar in the easier-to-work-on aspects to the 740 GLE - I leave the heavier repairs to my professional.

Car would be used mostly for a 4-day-a week 60 mile round-trip highway communte to work, plus an every other weekend drive of about 300 miles round trip highway, since I amthinking of giving the 1990 740 GLE to my 16-year-old step daughter to get to school and work locally (want the Volvo safety), and using the "new" turbo for me.

Comments? Suggestions? I'd give a good+ so far on what I can see, and of course would run it by my Volvo mechanic for an opinion, asking him to pay special attention to the suggestions given in the FAQ for 700 series and turbos. Online suggested book values run from about $2100 for fair to $3100 for excellent, with a middling $250 for good. If it all checks out mechanically, I was thinking of offering $2400.

Any and all opinions and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Brian
