Hybrid conversion suitable for 245 ??

Simply cruise to the interstate using that sweet little grocery getter's b230f and then switch to auxilary power.

The 240 wagon would be a very good donor for a project like this. Lots of room for the auxilary engine and good cover to fly below the radar... and you thought you needed a V8 !

He keeps calling it street legal, but how on earth does he get away with it sticking out past the bumper that far without hanging a red flag off of it?

Hybrid conversion suitable for 245 ??

Reminds me of Bugs Bunny's Tralfaz Air Hot Pipe. Would you put it through
the tailgate? Maybe clamshells like airliner thrust reversers?
How about a manifold and a row of 4" pipes under the bumper?
Maybe a 145 would be a good candidate. You could use the power steering
pump for a fuel pump for the big 'un.

I say, make it a completely enclosed design in the 145. Rather than having it protrude as in the small body of the New Beetle, arrange to have the tailgate open on hydraulic struts for the duration of firing.

That way when the tailgaters get too close... you just hit the big red button to deploy the thing. Oh so very satisfying.

I think it would be trivial compared to the engineering that's already gone into the project.

Backwash

When we were testing the M1 main battle tank in Panama we had to drive it
from the port to the nearby Corozal military rez. We had escort vehicles
front and rear (because the turbine exhaust comes out at about 1000°F)
but a bunch of impatient cyclists went around the escort vehicles and rode
briefly behind the tank. They didn't stay there long!
