Turbo replacement 89 760 B230FT at 205,000 miles 700

The turbo in my 760 hasn't worked in years. It still runs well, however I would like to reclaim that extra horsepower. At 205,000 miles I had been told that reinstalling an operable turbo may be too much stress on the engine and quite possibly damage the engine beyond repair. Should I stay with what I have or or take the risk? If I don't replace the turbo, are there any other adjustments that I can make to compensate for the loss of power?

Thanks,

Hammerhead

I've got a couple of Mitsubishi turbos in pretty good shape off of 1988 740s. While I am mostly into collecting parts and not selling, I would consider a reasonable offer if you need one.

There is no risk to putting one back on. If anything, your engine is probably in much better shape for not having the turbo for whatever lentgh of time it has been off. Just bolt one back in and stick your foot into it!

There is another alternative to the turbo. Nitrous is amazing as long as the tank pressure is up!

You can email me at will@willdallas.com and let me know what parts are needed.

Regards,

Turbo City in Orange ,CA does a pretty good job. Don't know what the shipping would be though.

Ridiculous. Rebuild your turbo for about $350, reinstall it with new exhaust manifold gaskets, and enjoy the added power. See the FAQ for details.
