Steering problem 200

I noticed this after I smashed my car up, but I didnt hit the wheels on a curb or do anything harsh to the wheels/tires

When i'm driving a speeds below 60km/h I feel a pusling from side to side (while going straight and letting go I can watch the wheel pulse back and forth - left to right) Slight pull to the left. It feels like it may be something on the right front tire. At highway speeds around 100 - 130km/h its not as evident, or doesn't seem to be there at all.

When i turn the wheel and let it go while im giving some gas and the wheels begins to go back straight, same thing, pulses inch by inch till it's straight.

I'm trying to diagnosis this, I havent had time yet to pull my wheels off. Is this simply maybe an alignment issue? balljoints or something? I haven't had any experience with steering stuff like that.

I appreciated any responses/comments

Thanks,

Amar

    Problem solved! 200

It was my tire, everythign else is fine. It seperated and blew off on the highway while going 100km/h to work. I didn't manage to smash anything up this time but my rim was kinda sparking. I'm at work now safe n sound with my spare on the front right but my rim is thrashed, my hubcap is still lookin good though.

Seriously not a good week. I think im going to drive my car off a cliff this weekend.

"Seriously not a good week. I think im going to drive my car off a cliff this weekend."

      No, don't do that!
It's not good for the other tires.

Seriously, get a full-size spare. Nothing like having to limit your driving when your active tire gets damaged. As in 150 miles from home and the writing on the side of the spare says "50 mph and 50 mile distance limit".

We have mounted snow tires and mounted summer tires; I keep one of whatever is off-season in the spare tire well. IIRC even 195/75-14 and 205/70-14 fit OK.

Yah, im not drivin it off a cliff.

I have two meaty winter tires mounted on rims 195 something 14. I throw those on when i go camping, but I didn't care to change my bald summer tires as I was gonna get 15" rims soon and rubber those up.

My spare is nearly full size, and its rated to go 100km'h so thats not bad. I dropped my rim off with my brother, he's a mechanic at a goodyear shop so he's throwin a tire on that rim nad get it back on after work. This saturday I'll change the other two bald yoko's

Another close one, twice in less than a week. The concrete divider looked like it was getting close this morning.

I guess its a good thing im driving in the closest car to a tank.

I would start with the basics. Balance alignment tire pressure. When you have the front end jacked up grasp the tire at 12 and six oclock then at 3 and 9 oclock and see if there is any movement that would suggest ball joint, bearings, or tie rod end play. After that look at the condition of the bushings. If you don't have a Robert Benley 240 manual, get one. I use it for 700 and 900 series as well. Ck. Ebay. Good luck.

i know my wheel bearing on the right side makes some noise, i was thinking that might not make my steering wheel pulse left to right like that?

          amargill 19:

If the wheel bearing is on and off catching, it will cause the wheel to pull, think of it like applying only the brake on the right front wheel for a split second.... If the bearings are making noise, replace them before they do real damage to the spindle, rotor, or caliper. I consider wheel bearings safety critical components.

Yeah, that sounds like whats going on. My brothers a mechanic and he pointed out to me that my bearing was making noise before i noticed the pull and steering movement.

I'll get em fixed, prolly before my smashed door

            Thanks
