cruise control 200 1990

hello to all forum members, it is always a delight and very informative to peruse the forum. I have an almost rebuilt 240gl/1990 sedan [right hand drive] which takes me into remote areas of Australia i.e. a lot of long distance driving.Everything works incl. A/C! but no cruise control. My question is, is it worth the effort/cost to install OEM from a donor vehicle or go for after market? Have seen the relevant passage in Bentley manual and it looks complicated. Thanks in advance,Stephen.

Oh, definitely OEM is best and easiest for a US car however as for Oz though I am not sure of the fitment of the olive green pedal bracket used on US cars, to the RH drive set up. Also, not sure if your car is all wired for the cruise as are ours?

I think it's easily worth it. You'll get better fuel economy and increase your driving endurance to boot.

Not too hard to install on the later models. Here are the install instructions:

Piece of cake. All late model 240's shipped to the US were prewired for Cruise Control. It's all most plug and play. It took me about two hours to install mine. If I had to do another one I could probably do it in an hour and a half.

Have fun,

RonJ
