Intermittent FM radio problem 900 1995

Just uppicked a super 1995 940 and getting everything back in order. Having a problem with the radio.

FM goes to static about 75 percent of the time. AM works great. Antenna works fine, grounds are good.

About to try changing the suppression relay...it looks original. Any other ideas?

I toyed with the 940 OEM radio for about six-months with similar problem and finally gave up and bought an aftermarket radio/CD player [look at the neat ones you can use SD memory chips .. I bought a radio that has one and bought a SD memory chip that holds 30CD's {yes 30!!] and $9.00 recorder that plugs into the USB connection on your computer..put CD in CD player on compter and seconds later the whole CD is on the memory chip. These are about the side of a postage stamp. I replaced speakers too. Life is good with all the clear tunes!

Also check the spark plugs. Resistor plugs claim to have better radio noise suppression than regular ones. HOWEVER I bought a 200 series with a radio that would switch to tape playback mode, had crappy reception... I replaced it with my old analog radio from my '81 and put digital one in the clay pigeon launcher and blew it to pieces!!!

Analog radio has way better reception but only three presets and brings me close to tears some times as I remember my old 242 and all the fun times I had with it.
