I've been running into issues picking up what should be pretty common parts.

One is the "cheap" rear wheel nearing for my 67 Wagon (P220). Most of the bigger autoparts places don't carry them anymore, and if they do, there are around $75.00 - $100.00. I personally don't think that is "cheap." Swedish Treasures has them for $60 - $100 depending on which I need. What is the regular going rate for these kits? My rear end is really starting to frighten me. But I'm still not sure that the bearings are the problem, but they symptoms fit - except that greasing the existing bearings up makes absolutely no difference in the noise even for a few minutes.

The other thing I'm having difficulty with are the softplugs for the injector ports. The local autoparts places either don't know what I'm talking about, or don't carry them anymore. Is there someplace I could just order them from?

Well, not much luck on the bearings so far, but the machine shop that services the local carquest(s) has plugs, just not in the right size. The fellow is going to order a new box and I'll probably pick up 4-8 as soon as they come in.

Still hunting for bearings, so if anyone has a reliable/affordable source, please share. I still plan to put a modified 1800 axle in the wagon, but I want to get some mileage out of the present drivetrain. Especially after buying all new U-joints and the $50.00 small diameter J-type flange from Don Thibault.

According to my book the complete wheel bearing (cup and cone) is SKF 32207,
with a list price of $33+. You would need one for each side and I'd think
you could get them cheaper than this.
Dorman and other automotive hardware supplier make the 7/8" freeze plug
or soft plug. If your parts store doesn't have them the store may be too new.
Talk to the white haired old guy in the back. They are 7/8" or very slightly
smaller and have a bit of a dish to them. Clean the holes, put one in the
hole and smack it with a hammer to flatten it and it will seal the hole.
Don't hammer it any more than necessary to make it tight.
The cross section of this item should be like this: )
After you hammer it its cross section will be like this: |

My 20 cents 120-130

Yes, litterally.
I plugged the holes in a B20F head with nickles. Not glamorous, kind of funny, but it worked.
I made gaskets to fit the recess of the injector hole, used gasket sealer on the head side, dropped a nickle on top, and retained the nickle with a piece of bar stock bridging between the port and injector retainer bolt.
This goofy fix has worked for years.
Plus I have the benefit of adding 20 cents of value to the car.

The bearings are standard so if you get them out you can read the number and
get them from a BEARING shop, not a parts house. Should be cheaper that way.
I'll do a little research and see what I can find.
