Hi Rob;
You can email me from my website, www.sucarburetors.com. I rebuild those carbs all the time.
SU carbs are not as sensitive to small particles as other carbs, but nonetheless it would have been a good idea for Volvo to install a filter of some sort. Most folks have, in the line leading to the fuel pump.
