How's LH 2.4 in COLD weather ? 900

Hey Chris,

How's things going these days.

Well, as you know it finally warmed up here in Calgary so I went back down to the far end of town where my GF lives to try and revive the 940 and it still wouldn't start ! It fired a bit and almost ran (roughly) a couple times but it just wouldn't catch.

I decided to pull a plug to see if it was wet indicating that I had flooded the engine and that's when I discovered the source of the problem. Bosch Platinums. I guess the PO had put those #$%*&@#$! pieces of crap in. They were fouled and not looking good at all so I replaced them with a fresh set of regular NGKs which I happened to have in my toolbox. Presto ! the car started and purred like a kitten within about .25 seconds of turning the key.

Y'know, I've had nothing but grief any time I've tried Bosch Platinums in either my 240 or 940. They're nothing but high priced junk if ya ask me. In fact, I've not had good luck with regular Bosch plugs either. I vote the straight NGK ticket. I run them in my cars and my boats and they always work well, last a long time and never give me ANY trouble. The recommended plug for my outboards are Champions but the NGKs out last them 2 or 3 to 1.

Ok, I've vented now and feel much better...

To all those people who might happen to read this. DON'T ever buy Bosch Platinums !! They're a COMPLETE waste of money.

Roger
