The "arrow up" tells you that the transmission is locked out of overdrive - this is for towing, etc. and accounts for the higher RPM that you see when driving.

As for the sunroof. clean and lubricate everything that you can get at. Have someone close the roof while you watch it. It is possible that the flap did not work because the pivots were dry or dirty, and now the flap is bent a bit and may need adjustment.
