Bushings in the tranny connector rod.
It's like this: There is a lever out from the side of the tranny, on a rod that does inside. Pull the lever, one can feel it hit the detents as it goes from gear to gear.
Then there is a rod on the bottom of the shifter handle in the car. Move that handle, the rod turns. On that rod is another lever. The tranny connector rod goes the about 24 inches between those two levers.
The rod has a pin (1/4" dia, or so) that goes into a hole in the lever. One on each end. There is actually a bushing over the pin that fits inside of the hole in the lever. Held in there with a clip. The bushings keep the slack to a minimum and silence the "clinks".
It can be an easy DIY job. Done on oil change ramps. I got two bushings and two clips from my dealer when I hit this problem. Not much money needed.
Oh, bye the way, if the connector rod pin falls out of either lever, then whatever gear you were in at the time, you stay in. Not always a good thing. So fix it soon.
If you do it yourself, be sure to pull on the E-brake while the car is on the ramps. Moving the tranny lever about can move it out of Park.
Good Luck,
Bob
