My '88 245 had NO accommodations for grease fittings on its OEM u-joints, although the replacement units did. Not sure about my '92.
U-joints are probably one of those things that Volvo specs out dimensionally and buys from the low-cost provider. Some vendors' units had provision for grease fittings, others didn't. I had to replace the '88's at about 150K miles, but I'm at 202K on the '92 with the original units still doing fine.
