Stupid questions..Two different calipers on front of 90, 740 GL 700

I have a 90 740 GL, left side caliper is a Girling two piston unit, right side is a Girling single piston unit. Went to change pads today, and knew enough to try to determine which calipers where on the car. Store shows only two calipers for this car, Girling and Bendix. I am having some difficulty in attempting to bolt the caliper up to the brackets on the single piston caliper with the new pads installed. Seems to be lacking about a 1/16 or so from allowing the bolt to line up. Single piston caliper has some spring steel brackets on the brackets that the pads ride in. Anyone have an idea when the single pad caliper came out or was retired. Anyone have any idea if these pads will fit or not ?
Everything looks good on the single piston side other than a little slop, where as the two piston pad is pretty snug..Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Regards,
Dave
