Virgo tire size questions... 200

Just scored a set of turbo rims for the girl friends 90 wagon, they have 205/65 15's on them, I didnt think this size would fit, but they definately did fit the wagon in the boneyard. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of this size over 205/60 15? Like speedo, mileage, performance etc? Thanks for the help...
~Phil

Not enough difference you could be able to tell. There is a site that is usuallu posted in here from time to time that lists the tire sizes and their effects on rpm and milage, but I am sorry I do not remmeber it. The 65 footprint over the 60 footprint is just that, 5 mm wider. I think.. Anyway that 205x65x15 is a good fit for that tire. You want a tire that sits almost square with the rim. A tire that sticks out or pooches out over the side of the rim is less desirable that one that sticks out very little. Max

      5 mm Taller actually.
Probably a fairly correct diameter for a wagon's speedo.
I tried this size on a wagon and the clutch work was more starting out.
The gearing was noticeably taller, and I couldn't stay in 4th or OD
      nearly as well around town.
I think the extra weight and weight at the greater circumference
of the wheel might negate any fuel savings at speed on the freeway.
Especilly considering the OD,and fuel consumption above 70.
Plus the car was pretty high ride height wise.
      IMHO too Big & Tall
      Wear them down & go
      195-60-15 /sedan
      195-65-15 /wagon
      205-60-15 /cornering
      Good luck

        205/65-15 = near perfect for wagon 200

Here are the addresses for the tire size calculators.

        http://www.wickedbodies.net/Tire-Size-Calculator.htm
        http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

The wickedbodies one will accept "R" for the middle number.
Look on sticker on passenger door edge; it will tell you the stock size.
        Prolly 185/R-14.

        I have 205/65-15's on my '89 245.
Yes rpms are low from the startoff.
Might be a pain if using a standard tranny.
But the speedo is darn accurate with that tire size.

Keeping the original diameter will keep your load capacity at Volvo's rating also. Smaller diameter tires will have more pickup, less actual mpg, have a lower load capacity and will make your speedometer into a liar.
