Shift Lever Problem - 240 - Automatic 200 1991

Hi Rob,

Some time back I had hoped you'd explain that yellow piece of plastic to me. I had figured your reference was personal knowledge of the '93 model, which is somewhat different than the shiftlock mechanism in 91 and 92.

In the 91, at least, the yellow plastic is only there to push the solenoid pin out of the way to override its function. Without it, no override is possible. I can't, however, talk from experience on the 93 version.

Cousin: Check your brakelights. Fuse 7 has a way of developing a work hardening crack from repeated thermal stress. Also fuse 12 needs to be there - evidence is a working snowflake light on the AC switch.
