Exhaust system 700

I'm getting ready to replace the exhaust system on my '87 740 GLE wagon. I cut off the old system right after the converter and want to run a straight piece of pipe to the axle pipe, then to the rear muffler. I don't want to use a center muffler on the new system. Are the Starla components that FCP sells the ones that have the pipe that goes up and over the rear axle or do they go underneath of it?

Also, I can't drive the car to an exhaust shop since I don't have it licensed and insured. What would be the best way to bend the pipe going from the converter to the rear muffler? I'm going to clamp the pipes together instead of having them welded.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

the starla system goes over the axle.
if the pipe isn't too rusty cut it after the center muffler, buy the second half of the over the axle pipe that connects to the rear muffler and get a muffler shop to weld a straight piece of pipe on where the center muffler was.
that would be the easiest
if its too rusty to reuse the first elbow you need a pipe bender to get the required shape. doing it by hand will give you a collapsed pipe.
take the old piece to a shop and they will bend one for you.
and if you get them to make you a one piece from the converter to the rear muffler make sure you have enough clearence to actually get it in there.

i personally would just buy the muffler from fcp or locally and all the hardware and in 1 hour its all done
