Celica Transmissions 120-130

I remember hearing in passing that a Toyota Celica transmission can be mated with a B18/B20 with little or no modification to the bellhousing. I want to get rid of my BW35. Can anyone deny/confirm this?

It takes a whole new bellhousing.

In the US, a better choice might be the Mustang T5 swap. V-Performance sells parts to make it pretty easy.

Although, really, unless you have some *CRAZY* motor in there, you just need to swap in an M40/41 to get rid of the dreadful BW35 lump. Everything bolts in with no custom work (other than perhaps a new trans crossmember on an auto 122?)

Check over on turbobricks.com . A lot of information on T5 and other tranny conversions for Volvos.

Of course, check with John Parker at v-performance. He makes adapter plates for T5s
