If The O ring went down the tube that is not a problem, it will just sloosh around in the pan. Oil pump pickup is through a screen for just such an occurance. It may come out with your next oil change. Driving without the dip stick is not a problem, just plug the top. Best source for a new one is a wrecker and compare it to the old one if possible.
