ANSWER Worst case hose photo... and an EDIT 200

I haven't replaced one in some time now, but always used Fuel Injection rated hose. But I've come to realize that's overkill, given the low pressure at the Tank pump. So ordinary Fuel hose (5/16" I.D.) would probably suffice.

But if you really want to do it right, the hose should be rated suitable for Fuel "Submersion", which I believe is SAE 30R10, or the OE hose from the dealer. The hose in the top photo was probably not SE 30R10.

You can buy R10 by the foot, but it's expensive. I think the hose in the 2nd photo was about $20. But maybe worth shopping around for if the car is a "keeper". I think I saw it somewhere in 6" lengths at a better price. Anyhow, here's a link to Gates for more on their "Submersible" hose.
