Driver side power window will not stop when going down 900 1995

Recently, my driver side power window started going all the way down inside the doow and the motor never stops. The motor reaches the end of the regulator gear and starts making a knocking sound. This happens whether I use the 'Auto Down' function or if I hold the switch to open the window all the way. I have taken the door apart and cannot find the problem, I only find the gear knocking the regulator gear. I was wondering if there is a switch to stop the downward motion of the window. Is the switch possibly in the motor?

    The "Auto Down" feature uses a relay located in the upper forward corner inside the door, according to the chart. I suspect that if that relay goes bad, it could be the cause of the problem.

    Get a price and see if what may be "throwing parts to see what sticks" makes a reasonable fix.

      I have the same issue with my '93 940, I do not have auto down windows. I believe its a broken part on the window regulator. IIRC, there is a plastic stop on the end - I opened up my door panel and that piece was broken/bent.
