Driver side power window will not stop when going down 900 1995

Recently, my driver side power window started going all the way down inside the doow and the motor never stops. The motor reaches the end of the regulator gear and starts making a knocking sound. This happens whether I use the 'Auto Down' function or if I hold the switch to open the window all the way. I have taken the door apart and cannot find the problem, I only find the gear knocking the regulator gear. I was wondering if there is a switch to stop the downward motion of the window. Is the switch possibly in the motor?
