Hi there,

When I neglected to tighten the strut gland nuts, the big rings that hold the strut insert in the tube, the result was noise like you describe.

Take another look at that strut nut tool thread - I believe 15 ft. lbs. may be in Lucid's compilation of Bentley errata.
