Read This - Daniel Stern Lighting, everything you always wanted to know about automotive lighting.

While the GT fog lights look cool mounted behind the grill, they are largely ineffective. Fog lights should be mounted under the bumper, closer to the ground. Driving lights however, would work quite well up behind the grill, as long as they do not impede engine cooling.

I found this diagram helpful when installing fog lights,
