whining belts - solved!!!! 200 1981

It turns out that the belts were fine. Car died yesterday, had to jump to get going again. All the whining was caused by the alternator always trying to be at full charge rate, but battery had a bad cell and wouldn't accept a charge. Long story short, new battery, no more whining noise.
