Counterhold tool? 700

Hi folks,

Sorry about clogging the board with posts, but I have the flu... and I'm bored. :(

The "Counterhold tool" listed on FCP Groton - is that the tool used when removing the crankshaft pulley etc. during timing belt changes?

If so, who here owns this tool?

Thanks!

Ari

The rope trick is easy and works well. Aside from that, I'd only use the counterhold tool.

I got the crank damper tool from IPD.
It works fine. I know there's other ways to get that crank nut off,
But I opted for the tool, there's little to go wrong.

Yes it is. A very well constructed tool. It serves it's purpose with no problems. I hear that it might not fit some aftermarket crank pullies. Mine was an original pulley and it worked great. Some people advise to use the rope trick. That is the cheapest method and it works.
