oil preassure guage 200 1991

Hello Bee,

Installed a ebay five bar about two months ago and really like it. And thanks to a generous gift from Stick, I have a bezel and feet I will send you if you forward me your address. I have an email in my profile you can use to contact me. Paying it forward you know and it is free for the asking.

The green wire goes to the sending unit, I fished mine out the seal on the passengers side of the car and ran it down the side panel. That is going to have 12 volts on it so you do not want to pinch it. Zero oil pressure if you do, suggest using a 20 or 22 gauge wire. The Blue/Red wire goes to switched 12 Volts, best attached to the fuse panel. If you have a large tach and a small clock you can tie into the same color wire going to the clock. The black wire goes to the chassis, I suggest the one in the center dash where all the others go. The Brown wire goes to the rheostat for the light dimmers. You can pick that up from one of the brown wires in the center console or one again off the back of the large Tach.

You can get the sending unit at Egauge like Stick said. You will want a dual sending unit that supports the idiot light and the five bar. Try this link http://egauges.com/vdo_send.asp?Sender=80PSI_5Bar_VDO . I used the Part No: 360-006 on my 86 model and needed a 1/8 to 1/4 NPT thread adapter. Changed over to Metric on later years so make sure you get the right one. You need the adapter so you can screw it into the block and you want to order that when you get the sending unit. Nothing like having all the parts but the one that screws into the block. You have a new toy and you want to play with it, not wait for another part dang it.

When you get ready to install the wires on a dual sending unit here is a trick. One of the two contacts will have zero ohms to sending unit chassis. That is where your black wire from the old sending unit will go. That short is what pops the warning light on (Less than 7.5 psi keeps the light on if memory serves). The other contact will have a low resistance to chassis, but not a short (33 ohms I think).

Good Luck,

Paul
