Such a nice wagon... 700 1990

I saw an ad on Craigslist about parting out a 740 and I stopped by today.

It turned out to be a perfect 745, white, no sunroof. No rust, no leaks, only things wrong with it are torn headliner, missing backup lens and broken front turn signals. Even the rear wiper works.

Some guy abandoned it at a repair shop in Coon Rapids a year ago after it was fixed. The mechanic can't locate him and doesn't want to hassle with the lien and title. He only wants $500 for it too...

I'd have snapped this thing up and tried to find a way to make it legal, but I have no place to park it. Grrr...

740 turn signals??? 700 1990

What is it with 740 front turn signals? Yours are broken, C.A. has broken lamps, the "immaculate" find you just described has broken lamps...

It's a light blight. 700 1990

I don't really know. They don't fall out like the rear ones, they really are broken.

And you can't buy just the lenses, either.

My 780 that I recently bought has the same problem---and they are broken, not crumbling from long term exposure to sunlight. 780s have Carello lights, which are made of a much higher quality plastic than the Cibies on other Volvos. I should also mention that these lights are unique to the 780, and VERY hard to find.

As to the wagon that is the subject of the original post---see if you can get the name of the owner from the shop, and offer them $100 for the title if you can track them down.
