of course, replacing the line would be best...

But, since it's such a short span, I think your repair would work.

Or... maybe put some JB Weld over the hole, then wrap a piece of fuel line that's been cut the long way, put around the line, and hose clamp it directly over the leaking area... That would be easiest, and I bet between the JB weld and the 'patch' over the hole... it'd last forever.
