Not Volvo specific but usually when they pop like that it is the 'S' shaped Spring that holds the door in the open position. Look for that on the Lower hinges and lubricate the ends.. the one that is in the Body of the car is usually the culprit. With a large screwdriver, sometimes you can push the spring to open a gap on the 'touch' surface to get grease in there. Grease lasts longer
