The AW transmissions can be damaged by long-stretch towing, but I believe the limit mentioned on the board was 30 miles. The reason they can be damaged is that the transmission pump doesn't run when the engine's off.

Towing by the rear wheels (with the front on the ground), or on a flatbed, is what I've heard is recommended.
