Removing and replacing 245 gutter trim (going from chrome to black) 200 1990

It is very difficult to remnove and reinstall this trim successfully. If you're careful, you can avoid kinks and ripples, but the problem I usually encounter is that it will bend out of shape on a larger scale, that is the curve of the molding will no longer match the shape of the rain gutter correctly.

The bottle opener idea is a good one---I've never tried it, but I can see how it might just work. You would want to use the little aluminum bottle openers with the claw, the kind that, as Stickbuilder mentioned, are often found next to the register at convenience stores.

If you are going to try it, I would recommend first going to a junkyard and practicing on one of the Volvos there. That way, any mishaps that occur in the learning process will not spoil the good moldings you are planning to use.
