You don't mention if it is a turbo or not; also what year is it?

I have a 91 745T that I was having similiar trouble with some time ago. That turbo has an in tank pump as well as a main pump under the car.

The in tank pump had failed. Once I replaced the in tank pump the long cranking times went away.

So if your car is equipped with two pumps you might consider checking the function of the in tank pump. Good luck.
