How hard is it to replace a cruise control 900

My cruise control on my 91 940se has finally bit it I believe. The cruise used to engage just fine, but recently would disengage without pressure being applied to the brake and now has completely quit working all the way. How hard is it to replace the cruise unit and does anything else need to be replaced in the process?

How hard is it to replace a cruise control 900

Hi

I recently installed a cruise control in my 945.
Here's a few of my experinces, which may help you to locate the error.

- It's possible to adjust the switch for the brakepedal. These have to be with in a certain limit, in order for the cruise control to work.
- Check the vacuum hoses. If there is any cracks in these, then change them. A vacuum leak will get the cruise control unit to disengage.

It's not that dificult to change a cruise control unit, but I think, from what you have told, that either you have a vacuum leak, or the switch for the brakepedal needs adjustning.

I hope you get your cruise control working again ;-)

It is activated by the brake pedal and is found under the dash near the top of the pedal arm.

Here is a link to the FAQ's (accessed from the dropdown menu in the upper right corner of the page) that will be helpful:
