What is the trick to installing the transmission linkage bushings 200 1986

Success! The trick is to remove the arm towards the front of the car. Remove the nut, pull the arm off, get out from under the car and then squeeze the bushing into place. With the arm off, it was also super easy to squeeze the transmission linkage onto the arm then put on the safety clip on. With the linkage hooked back up, it is still easy to get the arm back into place and put the nut back on. It literally only took me about 5 minutes start to finish. I can't believe I wasted so much time earlier trying to squeeze the bushing into the arm while it was still attached to the transmission.
