Hello! was wondering if anyone knew if my 79 245 has a crank angle sensor same as my 91 244? thanks!

Actually it does but not for the same reason. In the early model years there is a sensor in the bell housing that is wired to a receptacle at the right rear of the valve cover. Dealer service used this for connection of Volvo monotester 9921 to set ignition timing.
It may be there or it may have been removed from your car.
