If the body is solid and rust free it's worth it to keep it and drop a 4 cyl motor in when the six dies. You should check under the carpet for rust too. The station wagon is extremely handy as it can carry so much, but if it's rusty dump it.
I can't believe you actually found a 265 from 1976! I thought they had all gone long ago. I haven't seen one in years here in Sydney Australia. It is quite a rare car.
